I've committed myself to starting all my veggies from seed this year. Some are already started and others will be direct sown. As part of this plan, I've bought exclusively Heirloom seeds for the express purpose of being able to save them for next year. Thus, my intention is to not have to buy new seeds/plants ever again. How's that for frugal?!

In a future post, I'll list my garden plans... although, I want to do it in a non-boring way. I've tried so hard to read what others are growing this year, but the super long plant lists just make my eyes cross. Maybe it's just me?

Thanks for posting about this! I think I might join too. I can't do all my veggies this way at this time (full time work plus part time school means little time for gardening) but I can make a start. I always buy a lot of different heirloom tomato seeds. Maybe I should try to save some this year.
I'm buying Heirloom too this year. I will try to save as many as I can.
Excellent plan, you'll enjoy it! I save seeds every year. LOL on the eye crossing, it does me that way too.
I agree with the list thing. It is bad enough to stare at my own list, not sure I could handle some one elses. Post a little at a time.
Sounds like a great plan!
I'm impressed! I am interested in seed saving, although I am a little intimidated as a relatively new gardener. Last year I planted several seeds and very few came up, so I think I need to learn some more before I become too ambitious. For now I am reading along with interest. :-)
