Rhubarb Pests

This is what one of my Rhubarb plants looks like (by the way, is that a SEED STALK shooting up? If so, what do I do with it?)

This is what my other Rhubarb plant looks like.

This is what is eating my Rhubarb...
time to call their owners and ask that the electric fence be put back up and turned on.

I don't know that I've ever seen rhubarb flower. I don't have any of my own and it never did well at my parents so, while I like it, I haven't been around it much. Hmmm....

My mother in law told me to tear off the seed stalk, considering she has done rhubarb for years, I am going with her advice.

Judy - When I lived in Ohio, we always got some wild Rhubarb that grew in ditches. I never noticed it flowering either.

MJ - Thanks for the info! I'll do that.

In Ipswich, England I grow a variety of rhubarb which does not flower so I have a high yield. Other allotment holders choose other varieties without giving reasons for their choice. A friend has bugs eat the leaves of his rhubarb.I went onto the website to find out which bugs and how to eliminate the problem
